From the Tour Chairman

About our Town Loleta is located 5 miles from the ocean, 12 miles south of Eureka and 6 miles north of Fortuna off Highway 101. Take the Loleta Drive exit, west down the hill to the town. The town of Loleta invites you to join us at our “Swauger Station Day” deep pit barbecue and celebration after you finish the race/tour.

Swauger Station Day is the original name of small community and once a year we celebrate our community with a deep pit barbecue, games and entertainment for the whole family.

riderThe Barbecue starts at 12 noon to 3 pm. You won’t be disappointed with the size of the servings, and will have a chance to meet some of the members of our community that make the Tour possible.

Lodging New for 2014, registered riders can camp for free. (Check back later for more info.) For non-campers, Ferndale is 5 miles away and Fortuna is just 6 miles south on 101. Check our links page for lodging options.

Weather Race day in Loleta is usually cool and overcast with fog in the morning, possibly burning off around noon to two pm. Our temperature ranges from the mid 50s to the mid to high 60s during the day. As you go inland during the ride it will be warmer and dryer, so it will be good to return to our mild temperatures here in town.

Please no painted slogans on the road. CalTrans, the County of Humboldt and the folks who live here in the Loleta area don’t appreciate seeing any messages on the roads. Please let your friends and family know that they can encourage your efforts in ways that won’t cause the residents of Loleta, or the local and county governments to look unfavorably on the Tour of Loleta.

Hope to see you "On the Road"
